The Coppi River is one of the largest rivers of the Soviet-Gavan region in the Khabarovsk Territory. It is unique in its primordiality and purity, there are no settlements or industrial enterprises on its banks.
The length of the river is 219 km. The width in the upper and middle reaches is 40 - 60 m, in the mouth - it extends to 1 - 1.5 km. The average depth is 1.5-2 m, in pits - up to 4 m, in the mouth - up to 9 m.
The Сoppi River is one of the most inimitable rivers of the Khabarovsk Territory with a mountainous current, picturesque rocks and cliffs along the banks. The river originates on the southeast slope of the Sikhote-Alin ridge and flows into the bay of the Andrey Tatar Strait.
While on the river, you can see red deer, bears, and Steller's sea eagles. If desired, you can ride accompanied by a guide along the coast on horseback, or go sea fishing.
Meet at Khabarovsk airport. Transfer to Sovetskaya Gavan on a comfortable 10-seater bus.
There are 2 ways to get from the city of Sovetskaya harbor to the Coppi River.
1) By boat along the coast of the Tatar Strait. The journey takes 2 hours.
2) By car to the upper reaches of the Koppi River and further to the upper reaches of the Ulmagde, by the traditional boat of the indigenous people of Orochi. The journey takes 4 hours.
The return path, respectively, is the same. Upon arrival in Khabarovsk, we organize a sightseeing tour around the capital of the Far East.
The Coppi River is unique with its primeval and cleanliness, there are no settlements or industrial enterprises on its banks.
Fishing is done by boat, on an Ulmagda (national boat of the indigenous people of Orochi), on the river. Each boat can take 2 - 3 people + kayur (guide). The guide is an expert of the area, skilfully managing the boat, knowing how to deceive cunning and cautious fish whilst teaching you all the tricks of the trade.
Fishing is done from the boat, from pebbly shallows, from the shore and standing in the water, spinning (baubles, wobblers), fly fishing (dry and wet fly). Fishing is done on the principle of "caught-released", a small part of the fish is used for cooking.
Accommodation is located in a picturesque location 1.5 km from the river mouth. Wooden houses with heating, a spacious dining room, a sauna, fuly working bathroom, and electricity. The buildings are connected by a wooden sidewalk, and bed linen is provided.
Breakfast and dinner are organized at the base. Lunch - at the request of guests – at the base, or dry snacks out on excursion. The base is located near the coast (Tatar Strait), so guests have the opportunity to eat freshly caught crabs, squid and shrimp.
At the end of April-May (after the ice has started to melt) is the perfect time to begin catching taimen, lenok, char, white spotted char, and grayling.
From 10-15 June (depending on the weather), Sima/Masu Salmon can start being caught. At the same time, you can catch pike, taimen, lenok, char, white spotted char, and grayling.
From the end of June - July, spin fish for pink salmon, char, white spotted char, and grayling.
In August - September, the "path" - taimen, pike, Chum salmon, char, white spotted char, and grayling.
In October-November, until the freeze-up, in the river mouths, on the rivers (r.Sololi, May, Nemi) – Flounder spinning for grayling, lenok and sometimes char.

At the beginning of the fishing season 2017 I want to share fresh positive experiences and recommend a good person. A full article in "Fisherman" about the trip is still in writing, so for now a short announcement.
Organizer: Vitaliy Viktorovich, http://terra-dv.ru (photo and details on the site, all true)
Timeframe: 19/05 - 30/05
Flight: Moscow - Khabarovsk
Road: 8 hours autosphere + 2 hours sea boat
River: Coppi (the nearest town is Sovetskaya Gavan, Khabarovsk Territory)
Our catch for two: 46 Sakhalin taimens (3-12 kg), 66 kunji (1.5-3 kg), 70+ variegated, 3 grayling, 3 Sims
Base: heated houses for 8-12 people, the base is about 5 years old, mostly Japanese come
The whole organization is IDEAL in terms of time and budget; Meeting as friends, not "Moscow wallets"; Operative solution of ANY current issues (tackles, gifts home); A lot of additional nishtyakov such as "walk on the sea", "day of the border guard", and "crab parties".
A mini-spoonful of tar))) - there was hardly enough LOCAL information on tackles, baits, weather, water level to charges. But all this is history - Vitaly himself tested every spoon, every wobblers and every roll on the river. So with the advices of the problems there will be no unnecessary baits you do not drag.
In general, I can recommend Vitaly with a pure heart and I hope to participate in his new tourist projects (and there are many of them) in the future.
